This committee will examine the longstanding socioeconomic, cultural, and institutional inequalities that have shaped women's experiences across Africa, focusing on the persistent challenges of maternal mortality, unequal access to reproductive healthcare, and forced child marriage, despite decades of international initiatives and improvements in healthcare and education, which continue to affect millions of women and girls, particularly in rural, impoverished, and conflict-affected communities, raising critical questions about the effectiveness of existing protections, the preservation of women's autonomy, and the future of gender equality across Africa.
Topic A: Maternal Morality and Reproductive Healthcare Inequality
Topic B: Combatting Child Marriage and Forced Marriage in Africa
